Katia de Orbegoso immigrated from Lima Peru in 2007, when her husband relocated for work. Katia has degrees in Corporate Communications and Marketing, and with more than 14 years of experience, she has held various leadership positions in government agencies, multinational corporations and consulting. She was also a professor of Communications at two Universities in Peru.
Upon her arrival in the U.S. Katia was determined to educate herself and thrive in her new environment. She has done both seamlessly, becoming arguably more involved in her community and government than most people who are native to Colorado and the United States. Katia immediately delved into determining who was who in both the local and national government. She has even visited the White House. She is bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English.
Her sincere understanding of life changes and transitions coupled with her compassionate nature, make Katia an asset to the D+N team. She has been a part of the Douglas County Planning Commission as well as the local PTA at the school her daughter attends. Katia’s involvement in the Douglas County community gives her unique and important insights for families moving into the area.
